What I Offer

A supportive membership that provides networking opportunities, business-building workshops and activities that focus on marketing, mindset, visibility, strategy and much more. I know how important flexibility is, so our sessions are designed to fit around the busy lives of mums, offering both in-person and online options to keep things accessible and practical. At the heart of everything I do is community because, I believe that when mums support each other, incredible things happen. Whether you're here to connect, learn, grow or simply feel less alone on your business journey, there's a place for you in the Lanarkshire Boss Mums Membership.

Why I Started This

I founded the Lanarkshire Boss Mums Network in late 2024, born from frustration, really. Local business support in my area was virtually non-existent unless you had a traditional bricks-and-mortar setup. The local business association felt cliquey and out of touch, especially for women like me who were building businesses around family life. I wanted to create a space that truly understood the juggle of motherhood and entrepreneurship, with meet-ups during school hours and flexible, online support in the evenings. A place where women could connect, learn, grow, and feel seen.

My Journey

I live in Strathaven with my partner David, our 9-year-old daughter Heather, two ponies, and our Labrador, Alice. Before entrepreneurship, I was once an ambitious young nurse, climbing the career ladder. By the time I hit 30, I held a senior nurse post, had completed my Master's, and was offered a university lecturing position alongside PhD funding. Then I got pregnant, and everything shifted.

Suddenly, the life I'd been working so hard for no longer fit. I couldn't pursue the PhD, manage a full-time job, and still be present at the school gates. I didn't want to step back, but I also didn't want to miss out. So I made the bold choice to leave, without a clear plan of what was next. Then life threw us another curveball: my partner had an accident, was made redundant, and couldn't work for nearly two years. I had to figure out how to bring in an income, and fast. That's when I learned to create opportunities, not wait for them.

In 2019, I became a fully qualified Pilates and Yoga teacher and went on to build a successful Pilates and wellness business in Strathaven, helping people feel stronger, healthier, and more connected to their wellbeing. In June 2024, I spotted another growing need: mums in Lanarkshire deserved a business networking group that truly understood the juggle of family life and ambition. A space that's child-friendly, supportive, and realistic, with no super-early meetings or corporate pressure. That's why I launched Lanarkshire Boss Mums Network, now quickly becoming the go-to community for mums in business across the region.

My Expertise

I'm not just building businesses, I'm backing it up with formal qualifications. I'm currently working towards a degree in Business Management and Leadership because I believe in practicing what I preach. I've built two successful businesses from the ground up, and now I'm ensuring I have the academic credentials to match that real-world experience.​
