Lanarkshire Boss Mums Network was founded in September 2024 by Lisa Roy  and it started with a simple observation. There was no network that actually worked for mums in business. Every option out there meant early morning starts, rigid schedules, and rooms that didn't account for the reality of running a business alongside family life.

Lisa knew that world well. Having left a career as a nurse lecturer in 2019 to build her own pilates business, she understood exactly what it meant to be a mum navigating the world of business the ambition, the juggle, and the very real need for a community that genuinely gets it. Armed with a recently gained degree in business management and a passion for supporting women in business, she built the community she wished had existed.

What started as in-person events quickly grew into something bigger and more organic than anyone anticipated. Women joined, connected, and kept coming back  not just for the events, but for each other. The WhatsApp community became the daily heartbeat of the network, and it became clear that what mums in business needed most was flexible, genuine support that fit around real life, not the other way around.

​

The network evolved. Online support, resources, and connection became just as important as showing up in person. The membership grew and in May 2026, Lanarkshire Boss Mums Network took its next step becoming a fully paid membership community, with all events exclusively for members.

​

This isn't just a network. It's a community built by a mum in business, for mums in business. And it's only just getting started.
